Survival is estimated by the Kaplan-Meier method with 95% confidence intervals (Greenwood variance, log(−log) scale). Tick marks show censored observations. Results match the Python lifelines package.

Kaplan-Meier survival analysis

The Kaplan-Meier method estimates the probability of surviving (remaining event-free) over time, using the information from participants who are censored before the end of follow-up.

The log-rank test compares survival curves between groups across the whole follow-up period. The numbers at risk show how many participants contribute to each part of the curves; later parts rest on fewer people.

Kaplan-Meier Curve Generator: FAQ

What does censored mean?

A participant is censored when follow-up ends before the event happens (for example, the study ended or they were lost to follow-up).

What if median survival is 'not reached'?

Survival never fell to 50% in that group during follow-up, so the median cannot be estimated.
