Refund Policy

Effective September 28, 2026

You pay for a project before work starts, so this policy sets out what you get back if you cancel, if we are late, or if the work does not meet the agreed scope. Our first remedy is always to fix the work: refinements within the agreed scope are unlimited and free.

What is refunded at each stage

The stages match the project status in your client dashboard.

Project statusIf you cancel or we cannot continue
Awaiting PaymentNothing has been charged. Cancel at any time.
Awaiting Assignment (paid, no specialist yet)Full refund.
In Progress or Quality ReviewRefund of the work not yet done, as we assess it from the project's milestones: the unstarted share of the price, and at least 25% of the price while the main deliverable has not been delivered. We explain how we worked it out.
Ready for Review or In RefinementNo refund for work delivered to the agreed scope; we refine it instead. If refinements cannot fix a genuine shortfall, the project moves to Under Resolution.
Under ResolutionA senior team member reviews the project against the quote and offers further work, a partial refund or a full refund, depending on what went wrong.
Complete (approved, or no reply within 14 days of delivery)No refund.
Cancelled by us (for example, if we cannot find a suitable specialist or decline a project for integrity reasons)Full refund of any work not delivered.

Late delivery

If we deliver after the agreed deadline through our own fault, you receive 15% of the project price as wallet credit. If the quote marked the deadline as fixed and we are more than 48 hours late, you can instead cancel for a full refund. A deadline moved because materials or answers came late from you does not count as late.

What is not refunded

  • Work delivered to the agreed scope that you no longer need, or a change of mind after delivery.
  • Outcomes that depend on others, such as a grade, a pass, journal acceptance or funding.
  • Delays or problems caused by missing, late or inaccurate information or files from you.
  • Requests outside the agreed scope: these are new work, quoted separately.

How refunds are paid

  • Refunds go to your TimelyScholar wallet straight away, so you can use them on another project.
  • You can ask for any wallet balance, including refunds and unused top-ups, to be returned to your original card or PayPal account within 180 days of the payment. We process these within 5 business days; PayPal or your bank may take a few more days. Payment fees that PayPal does not return to us are deducted.
  • Credits we give as goodwill or for late delivery can be spent on projects but cannot be withdrawn as cash.

How to ask

Use Request a refinement or message us in your client dashboard, or email info@timelyscholar.com with your project number and what went wrong. We reply within 1 business day and aim to settle every request within 7 days. Please contact us before opening a card or PayPal dispute: disputes freeze the payment and slow everything down.
