About PROSPERO registration
PROSPERO is an international register of systematic review protocols run by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York. Registering in advance reduces duplication and helps guard against selective reporting.
A new version of PROSPERO was introduced in 2025 with dedicated fields for the rationale, the selection process, reporting bias assessment and certainty assessment. This template follows the headings shown in current records; the live form may ask further questions.

Check PROSPERO's current eligibility rules before starting. Scoping review protocols are often registered on other platforms, such as the Open Science Framework.
